Tuesday, August 14, 2012

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will be the keynote speaker at the Republican National Convention in Tampa. What should the rising Republican star say? We asked you to compose @GovChristie's GOP keynote in 140 characters.

Christie is known for his brash style of speaking. WNYC has worked up a montage of some of his greatest hits in the audio above.

Here are some highlights from your keynote suggestions:

@GovChristie's GOP convention keynote speech should speak honestly and in a dialogue that is informative, not disinformation, and not through a lens of fear. #keynote

He should provide honest and informative dialogue but it is quite difficult since populist nonsense rules the day to be successful in politics. The misinformation being propagated on Bain Capital is horrendous and frankly irresponsible. How many listeners read more than one newspaper? How many read a conservative and liberal viewpoint? My guess is very few. I support Christie and knew him reasonably well in college at the University of Delaware. He was a straight talking no-nonsense guy and fun to interact with. Politics are messy and he has a job to do. And, sorry you liberals, I am an independent voter but will vote for Romney this time.

Hi Rose,

Do you like a good looking, smooth talking President that told Putin, wait till I'm elected. Then I'll do as I please. Why don't you want to know what President Obama meant by that? Don't measure a book by it's cover.

We will say and do what all Bullies say and do. Force the points that are in his best interest, threaten and make good on those threats!
