Everyone pretty much agrees that singing to babies is a good thing. Singing can help strengthen the bond between parent and child; it nurtures brain development; and in fact, women are being taught to sing to their babies while they're still in the womb. Heck, even dogs know that it's important.

But when it comes down to it, what do you sing to your baby? In the long run it may not even matter. Still, for many parents it can be a daunting task to come up with repertoire -- especially when it comes to learning long-forgotten lyrics.

That's exactly the problem that new mom and culture commentator Faith Salie is currently facing. "As I listen to the nanny sing him every conventional song under the sun, I realize that I don't know the words," she recently told us. "I had to ask who the bags were for in Bah Bah Black Sheep."

So what have you sung to your little ones? Do you stick with those traditional baby songs and lullabies? Or do you pull out a personal favorite from your music tastes? We're going to pass your ideas along to Faith soon, so share your suggestions below.
