Bill Fong is a Dallas-area man whose life hasn’t always gone as he would have liked. His one passion is bowling, and he plays on a league team at his local bowling alley.

One night, Fong started to bowl strike after strike after strike. He bowled two straight games perfectly — 300 each. And on the third game, on the last throw, he left the 10th pin wobbling — but upright.

He had bowled an 899. If he had bowled a 900, Fong thinks his life would have changed. But that night, he became sick. His doctor told him he had a minor stroke as a result of the excitement earlier that day. If he had scored a 900 and had stayed out to celebrate, Fong could have died.
