The Olympic trials are in full swing, which means the games are right around the corner. Today, we’re kicking off our coverage with some of the Olympic athletes to watch in 2012.
Back this year are Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt making high-profile returns. Oscar Pistorius, who we profiled on the show last week, has already made history as the first double amputee to run an Olympic track event.
But there are plenty of other athletes flying under the radar who could make a big splash in London. Amantle Montsho could be the first Botswanan to win an Olympic medal. Iranian weight lifter Behdad Salimi will defend the world record he holds for his weight class. And Rafalca, the horse Ann Romney co-owns, will dance his way to London and back on the American dressage team.
Jason Stallman, deputy sports editor for our partner The New York Times, has his eye on who to watch out for.
