Episode #3355

Piano Plus...

For this New Sounds, hear music from the duo Moon Ate the Dark, which is Anna Rose Carter (piano) and Christopher Brett Bailey (treatments.) Carter provides soft peals of piano and Bailey weaves them together with dark washes of reverb, and other subtle electronic processing. There's also glitchy ambient music from Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto along with music from the recent Hilary Hahn & Hauschka release, "Silfra." And more.

Can't believe it took me this long to get around to listening to this beautiful music.

Wonderful show. Love New Sounds! I am always thrilled to hear something new. Had not neard Sakamoto or Carter and Bailey. Thanks for introducing them to me. I had listed previously to Hauschka and Hahn but your juxtaposition with other pieces brought out the beauty of their collaboration.

Interesting show tonight! I found it hard to listen to ambient music before, but I really loved the piece by Ryuichi . And really loved hearing Hilary Hahn.
