The US wouldn't give a rats ass abt the 'Island President' , my guess is Mr.Nasheed became a pest during the UN Summit- US India & CHina needed him out of office before the Rio Summit.

Great Talk! if only those elements who support the coup in Maldives can get that green monster out of their systems they could be proud of our deposed president. As a Maldivian I am so proud of him.

SO glad to hear President Nasheed speaking on this show. Saw the movie - truly wonderful and highly recommend it. I have often thought about the crisis in the Maldives - both the political and environmental. So good to have some advice on an approach we in the US can take in the US. Will write and urge them to support democracy in the Maldives!

Good luck, President Nasheed! Keep fighting the good fight!

Please ask him how he feels after Obama was so quick to recognize the jihadist government after it overthrew his democratically elected administration?

I guess Nasheed made the same mistake that week that Catholics in the US had: They didn't associate themselves with sharia law!

Since the USA has been a major source of green house gases and has refused to stop harming the planet would it be fitting for all climate refugees to be welcomed here in the US?

President Barack Obama managed to commit two major gaffes in a single sentence by attempting to refer to the Falkland Islands as the Malvinas while instead calling them the Maldives, which are 8,123 miles away.

Mr Obama was speaking at a joint press conference with President Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia at the Summit of the Americas in Cartagena, Colombia, on Sunday when he was asked about 'Cuba and the Malvinas'.

The American president attempted to use the Spanish word for the Falklands โ€“ a snub to Britain โ€“ but managed to botch it by instead referring to the Maldives, a group of atolls to the south of India.
