Commissioners Wallander and Machirelli discuss food distribution in the New York City metropolitan area. Machirelli provides some specific statistics related to food consumption in the area and warns that despite some stock piling, regular delivery of goods is vital for food distribution. Foods come from all over the United States and world.
Machirelli describes committees that have been established within different food group associations to plan for continued supply in the face of an atomic bomb attack. The plan will be based on military organization applied to a citizen population.
