A prototype of the new New York City taxi was on display at the New York International Auto Show in midtown Manhattan Wednesday.

The Nissan NV200 will be phased in beginning in October 2013. It's expected to fully replace all other cab models by 2018.

The car is a brighter yellow color than current taxis. It's also easier for passengers to move around because it has a flat floor without the hump.
