The intrepid, Swiss-born adventurer Isabelle Eberhardt (1877-1904) began traveling the North African deserts on horseback at age 20, often dressing as a man. She died in a flood at the age of 27, but left behind a body of work, including a wealth of travel writing. Today: composer Missy Mazzoli joins us to talk about her new opera, “Song From the Uproar: The Lives and Deaths of Isabelle Eberhardt,” which premieres tomorrow at The Kitchen. And, we get a live preview.
