Hometown: Norfolk, VA
Highlights: Head Coach Pan American Games 2011 Men & Women’s teams. One of the first women to run her own boxing gym.

Gloria grew up in the projects and spent 21 years working in Corrections. After spending years working with kids in prison, she decided to start a boxing program to stop them from ever getting there. Peek sees boxing as therapy: “it’s a way to get in touch with a lot of different things inside of you and can help you deal with those things that are going on around you.”

Peek has been coaching for 33 years -- but her passion for the sport started even earlier -- when she was just a kid. Listen her recollections above.
