Guest Picks: Paul Gross

Thursday, December 08, 2011

Actor Paul Gross was on the Lopate Show recently, along with co-star Kim Cattrall, to discuss the Broadway revival of "Private Lives."

What have you read or seen lately (book, play, film, etc.) that moved or surprised you?

Tree of  Life by Malick. A puzzling, transporting, baffling, beautiful and, I think, a seminal work of great and unusual courage.

What are you listening to right now?

Tom Waits’ latest – genius musings, rich and resonant, and that voice gets better and better

What’s the last great book you read?

Sacred Hunger by Barry Unsworth  - masterpiece of historical fiction, complex and enigmatic moral terrain, brilliant characters

What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?

What’s your favorite comfort food?

Shepherd’s Pie – and lots of it.
