Second Suspect Cleared in Groping Attack

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

The NYPD said that a man arrested in connection with one of a series of groping incidents in Brooklyn is no longer considered a suspect in that incident.

Joshua Flecha, 32, from Queens, was arrested early Monday for criminal possession of marijuana and later picked out of a lineup as the alleged assailant in a May 7 incident.

Police said the woman later said she could not say for sure that he was the perpetrator. Flecha still faces the marijuana charge.

One other suspect from a different incident is still in custody.

Police believe as many as four people may be responsible for the series of 20 sexual assaults from March 11 to October 13 in the borough. One was raped in June in Sunset Park, while the others were groped.
