"Mammon"?

Yes, it's that simplistic because everything in the world is so cut and dry and one-sided.

Pffffft!

America is going down because we have become a shameless, perverted, criminal society where honesty and decency is penalized, and criminality admired and rewarded. That is the TRUE cause of the financial crisis. When we put our love of Mammon above our fear of God.

Your criminal friend got his PH.d proving that crime does pay, so we should reward criminals instead of getting rid of them, right? We should give all criminals Ph.Ds.

jgarbuz -No we have nothing to learn from dictatorships where drug sellers are shot.

I knew a friend who sold had drugs to get himself through gradschool he has a PhD now.

It is people's own choice to use.

Stop the War on Drugs!

In Iran and China, drug dealers are hanged or shot in the back of the head.Do we have something to learn from them?
YEs, hard economic times causes many to turn to crime, but that is hardly new. Should we sympathize?

This is the best book I've read in a long time. A smart and detailed page turner. I recommend that everyone read it, at least once, so that they can have an idea of how a fusion between literary and commercial fiction is done- and done well!
