Sunday, August 28, 2011 - 09:03 AM

NJ Gov. Chris Christie was on the Today Show this morning as Irene was working its way up the Jersey Shore - he urged people to stay inside through the morning.

Newark Mayor Cory Booker tweeted one of the many reasons why @corybooker: Alert: High water can hide live wires. Please stay inside & allow emergency teams to continue to address all dangers.

Gov. Christie is going to give an update at 12:00 as NJ starts cleanup efforts

I wonder since Governor Christie doesn't like big government, will he be begging for federal assistance in the wake of the hurricane. I'm pretty sure that since they don't need Washington stepping into they're lives, that they will be able to take care of the cost of clean up for themselves.
