Ben Loory stopped by The Leonard Lopate Show to share some of his favorite picks with us.
What have you read or seen lately (book, film, play etc . . .) that moved or surprised you?
Well, it came out years + years ago, but I only just read G.B. Edwards’s book The Book of Ebenezer Le Page. It’s the only book he ever wrote.
Sometimes one is enough.
What are you listening to right now?
I’m listening to what I’m always listening to: The Melvins. Also a lot of Patsy Cline, Funkadelic, + Bill Monroe.
What’s the last great book you read?
The Circus of Dr. Lao by Charles Finney. It came out in 1935 and kinda reads like Fellini doing Erskine Caldwell.
What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?
I really love the movie “Sneakers.”
(Also I think Teletubbies are cool.)
What’s your favorite comfort food?
