This Week, It's All About 'The Dude' Lebowski

Monday, August 15, 2011

On Tuesday, Universal Studios releases "The Big Lebowski" on blu-ray. The limited edition disc, which comes with a 28-page book and an interview with the actor who played The Dude, Jeff Bridges, coincides with the 10th annual Lebowski Fest and the launch of Bridges' new self-titled album on Blue Note.

There will be a screening of the 1998 Coen Brothers classic on blu-ray at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Tuesday night. The movie will be preceded by an interview with the person The Dude was based on, Jeff Dowd, and a Q&A with Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Julianne Moore, John Turturro and T Bone Burnett.

In addition to Tuesday's celebration, there will also be a bowling party to celebrate the new release at 300 New York at Chelsea Piers on Monday. Tickets to the party, which will include costumes, trivia and the sale of blu-ray discs at midnight, are $30.

Most of what you articulate happens to be astonishingly legitimate and that makes me wonder the reason why I hadn't looked at this in this light previously. This piece really did turn the light on for me personally as far as this particular issue goes. However there is actually just one position I am not necessarily too comfortable with so while I make an effort to reconcile that with the actual core idea of your point, allow me see just what the rest of your readers have to point out.Well done.
