Brian, of all the topics and issues that I want to read about, one of the last would be a "what-if" theories of history.

I'm very surprised that Greenfield and his publisher would waste time and money to write and publish such nonsense.

This is hardly news. From ancient times on, monarchs and princes married other monarchs and princesses. Each clan from each "class" tries to marry, or rather ally itself with a group of its own level and status, and to try to raise their own status level.

You know what I learned from history recently? That Nicolas Sarkozy's step-mother is married to Frank Wisner II, whose father served with Cy Vance Sr. in the Carter Administration! Boy, the ruling class sure does now how to leverage social networks, don't they?

What if Cy Vance had competently assessed the witness who accused DSK of rape before arresting DSK?

Greece today might be closer to a debt restructuring at 50% of GDP.

It's amazing how one incompetent DA could so adversely affect an entire country, and possibly the entire eurozone.
