New Sounds Live: Bang on a Can PCF Concert 2010, Part 1

« previous episode | next episode »

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

From the New Sounds Live concerts, we'll hear the Bang on a Can All-Stars performing world premieres by Swiss ambient-funk-pianist-composer Nik Bärtsch and by composer/instrument-maker Oscar Bettison, who plays well with others in both the concert hall and the rock ensemble. Plus, hear music by Brooklyn's David Longstreth, the driving force behind the ground-breaking indie rock band Dirty Projectors (Sorry, no audio archive for his pieces.)  Recorded live in 2010, these works were part of the annual Bang on a Can People's Commissioning Fund Concert, a launch pad for emerging composers.
