But in his new book, Necessary Secrets: National Security, The Media and The Rule Of Law, Gabriel Schoenfeld argues that, historically, leaks of classified information have often been destructive, dangerous and illegal. Working backwards from a couple of 2005 New York Times leak-inspired exposés, Schoenfeld makes his case against the sanctity of revelation.
