When Texas Governor George W. Bush hit the campaign trial in his bid for the US presidency, the press, as always, tagged along. Led around the country, from one staged event to another, in chartered planes and buses, The Bubble—as they call it—developed into a strangely insulated netherworld between journalism and reality. Former NBC producer Alexandra Pelosi was a member of the media Bubble, covering the Bush campaign for 18 months. Pelosi brought along a camcorder to capture her time on the trail as a personal memento, but ended up turning it into a full length HBO documentary.
