Exporting Raymond

Monday, April 25, 2011

“Everybody Loves Raymond” creator Phil Rosenthal discusses writing, directing, and starring in the film “Exporting Raymond,” about his journey to a foreign land to help people who don’t seem to want his help. When Rosenthal joins forces with Hollywood studio Sony Pictures Television to recreate “Everybody Loves Raymond” for Russian TV audiences (as “The Voronins”), he finds himself lost in Moscow, lost in his mission, lost in translation. He tries to connect with his Russian colleagues but runs into characters and situations that conspire to drive him insane. It opens April 29 at the Angelika and Lincoln Plaza Cinemas.

The level of jingosim spewing out of Phil Rosenthal's mouth is unbelivevable!
Has this prima donna ever traveled or worked
anywhere that isn't Hollywood? Just try replacing the word Russia or Russians in everything he has said (and someone should tell him he's not even remotely funny) with another nationality or ethnicity-there would be international outcry. I now know to keep far away from anythinh this guy does.

I'm listening to this dram queen and want to roll my eyes. Honestly the paranoia due to K&R insurance is unfounded. If Sony was able to find K&R to cover the guest, it meant that it was a risk that an insurance company was willing to take, meaning the likeliehood of being kidnapped maybe less minimal, especially if they can thow in paying for a bodyguard too. Stop being so dramatic!

Phil, Please retell the scenes with your parents. I was convulsed when I saw the movie and you really captured them so well.
