Bloomberg: Any Alleged NYPD Ticket Fixing Has Been Corrected

Friday, April 22, 2011

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said "there seems to be a lot of evidence" that NYPD officers were allegedly fixing traffic tickets.

Speaking during his weekly radio appearance on WOR Friday, the mayor said he believes the alleged ticket-fixing scandal would have been corrected last year when the department began electronically tracking every ticket the day it's issued.

More than 40 officers could face charges for official misconduct and criminal charges and more could face disciplinary action in an alleged ticket fixing scandal. Officers allegedly fixed tickets for friends and family members.
