Bronx Zoo Cobra Hijacks Ryan Seacrest's Twitter Account

Friday, April 01, 2011

This story really has legs.

A day after the Bronx Zoo's cobra was found, the mind behind the critter's phony @BronxZooCobra Twitter account appears to have hacked into "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest's Twitter account — which boasts more than 4.2 million followers.

It appears that the E! host's website has also been tampered with: it features all snake-related content.

On Friday morning, @BronxZOoCobra tweeted, "Even while incarcerated my reach extends beyond my 20 inches. I have hijacked Ryan Seacrest's Twitter. See for yourself @RyanSeacrest."

The real Egyptian Cobra escaped from the Bronx Zoo last week and was recovered Thursday and is in fine condition.

The Twitter account drew more than 200,000 followers.
