Rising hip hop star DJ Megatron who was a regular on Hot 97 and BET's "106 and Park," was shot and killed near his home in Staten Island early Sunday morning.
The 32-year-old radio personality born Corey McGriff — who worked at stations in Boston, Philadelphia and New York — was found dead with a gunshot wound to the torso, cops said. No arrests have been made.
"He probably had one of the best personalities around -- super positive, happy all the time," his manager, Justin Kirkland, told the Associated Press.
Fans took to the Facebook page of "106 and Park" to pay tribute to DJ Megatron with messages of support to his three children and pleas to stop violence.
"Megatron is well known around the industry for his optimism, dedication, persistence and hard working drive," reads his MySpace page.
