One dubbed by NME as “probably the best new band in the world,” The Dears is a rock group from Canada with a sound often compared to Radiohead.

Since forming in 1995, the group has suffered the regular litany of rock and roll occupational problems: band fall-outs, fickle critics, and dashed expectations. But along the way, they’ve released five acclaimed albums and amassed a significant following for their symphonic, textured rock sound.

Holding it all together is the nimble voice of frontman Murray Lightburn, the son of a Quebec jazzman-turned-preacher. This track “Blood” comes from the band’s 2011 release, Degeneration Street.
