So she never won an Emmy Award. WHO CARES??!! I'm surprised Leonard Lopate would spend so much time dwelling on this nonsense. It's something I would expect only from a Larry King or Charlie Rose.

Lansbury will go down in history as one of the all-time greatest actresses. THAT'S her "award."

Once during the run of "Murder, She Wrote," Ms. Lansbury played a dual role when Jessica Fletcher went to London & met her cousin, a cabaret singer. The same week, a different network showed "The Picture of Dorian Gray." So viewers got to see Angela Lansbury sing "Little Yellow Bird" at widely separated ages--I think somehow both ran twice the same week! The best part for me was that the audience for the song in "Murder, She Wrote" consisted of punked-out youths, swaying to the music like the audience in the movie!
