Iron workers neared completion of the Borough of Manhattan Community College's Fiterman Hall's 15 story steel frame in Lower Manhattan this week. Fiterman was badly damaged and contaminated on September 11. After years of delay related to funding and regulatory challenges, the site was cleared and rebuilding started last fall. Set to open in the Fall of 2012, it will house 80 classrooms and state-of-the-art science labs. The new facility's meeting rooms will double as a conference center for the community.
