What the Public Wants

Friday, February 04, 2011

Actors Ellen Adair and Rob Breckenridge discuss the revival of “What the Public Wants” by Arnold Bennett and the Mint Theater Company. This 1909 comedy is a sly satire on tabloid journalism—a lively look at life behind the headlines and proof that the more things change, the more they stay the same. It follows the efforts of media mogul Sir Charles Worgan to boost his newspaper’s circulation as well as his own social standing.
