Up to ten thousand protesters converged on Tahrir, or Liberation, Square in Egypt's capital city on Sunday, defying a curfew and extending a mass protest against the authoritarian regime into a seventh day. Nobel Laureate Mohamed ElBaradei addressed crowds over the weekend and he appeared to join forces with the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, which is seeking an Islamic state. Meanwhile, Egyptian ex-pats in America struggled to contact relatives back home.
