Scandinavian actress Paprika Steen discusses her role in the film “Applause.” She plays Thea, a stage actress and recovering alcoholic seeking to regain control over her life while reconnecting with her two young sons. Her intense struggle occurs while she’s starring as Martha in a stage production of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, a role that Steen famously enacted on the Danish stage.
