Pianist Leif Ove Andsnes

Norwegian pianist Leif Ove Andsnes discusses his four-day Risor Festival Residency at Carnegie Hall. Leif Ove is the youngest artist to ever be given a “Perspectives” series at Carnegie Hall. He’ll be performing works by Bartok, Berg, Honegger, Stravinsky, Debussy, Mozart, Copland, Mahler, Brahms, Wagner, Liszt, Grieg, Wallin, Sørensen, among others, at Zankel Hall December 1–4. He’ll also discuss his new album of Rachmaninov’s piano concertos.

Leif Ove is the greatest living pianist.

A remark was made as to a lack of classical music in Denmark. I recall that when I was in Copenhagen years ago, I visited Tivoli Gardens, and in Tivoli I sat in a small concert listening to classical music.
