More than 100 concerts, dance and theater performances, sponsored by the City Parks Foundation, will occur this summer in 26 parks in the five boroughs. The performances celebrate community and city collaborations to clean up neighborhood parks.

Getting involved

A park thrives when its people get involved with its care, according to the City Parks Foundation. Eli Martinez Is a 30 year volunteer at Crotona Park. Every morning at 6, he begins his routine of clearing debris from the outfields and raking the clay of the park's five baseball diamonds. Martinez is also president of the Jaws Little League, which nurtured the baseball skills of major league greats such as Manny Ramirez.
