Hi,

There is no question that Tesla was a genius and he did invent one type of AC electric motor. However there are many motors used in the normal household that although operate on AC power are actually of the old DC motor design. Among there are vacuum cleaner, blenders, food processors, electric drills, hair driers, and many more. True AC motors are found in refrigerators, freezers, ventilating and heating equipment, garage door openers, air conditioners, can openers and many more applications.
