Spinning On Air

  • Antony

Antony, of Antony and the Johnsons, joins host David Garland to present and talk in depth about his new album "The Crying Light," and to perform solo in the WNYC Studio. "The Crying Light" is lyrical, restrained, and haunting; a meditation on and investigation of human consciousness and action in the natural world. Expect unusual insights, harsh beauty, gentle anger, and musical beauty.

What a wonderful and thoughtful person.

I remember when I first heard him, which was on WNYC, but I feel it was on New Sounds. I recall it was later and my building was silent and chills came through my back. Just him with piano.

He embodies a touching, gentle, beyond sexual, sensitive beauty.

I sense he is an evolution of some sort.

I was running with my nice old-fashioned Walkman when this show came on...running by trees and grass and sky and a huge moon. And between Antony's music and David's insightful interviewing, I was in heaven.

    Thank you so much.

It was an excellent interview and the in studio performances were sublime.

Due to the internet we have the great pleasure to listen so far away and some days later the marvelous program with Antony. I would like to know more about the artist and it was a great opportunity, not only listen his new album but also to his ideas about his work. His voice is so sweet and heavenly. I'd like to congratulate the program for giving us that wanderful moment.

"I sense he is an evolution of some sort."

    Yes, indeed, I do too.
