(David Garland/WNYC)Cameron Hull
Songwriter and singer Cameron Hull is easy to enjoy, but hard to place. His songs sound a bit like folk music of the 1940s and ’50s, but with a modern edginess. He mixes humor and sincerity in a disconcerting way, and his singing voice displays aspects of his operatic background without sounding at all stuffy. Hearing Cameron, you might guess he’s an old eccentric who lives in the wilderness, but in fact he’s a young eccentric who lives in Brooklyn. Cameron Hull joins host David Garland to perform and talk about his music. This show first aired July 15, 2007.

Wow, was it really that long ago this program aired? I enjoyed it a lot and I'm listening to it again on my iPod now approximately 2 years later. It's as good as I remembered. Thanks so much for airing interesting music like this - hardly anyone else does.
