Evoking a kind of medieval psychedelia, inspiring visions of suits of armor and electric guitars in fern forests, the Philadelphia band Fern Knight plays their music in the WNYC Studio. With cello, guitar, electric violin, harp, percussion, and vocals they make music that's lyrical and gently noisy. Host David Garland talks with them about their myths and music.

About the "green man" --
I think this refers to the 14th century British romance, "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight." (anon.)
It's good read. The green man was created magically by Morgan Lefay, half-sister of King Arthur. There follows a struggle between Paganism and Christianity.
Just wanted to concur with Jane, above.
It is a good read. I wrote a paper on it as an undergrad. It's good stuff.
