Ikue Mori has been a force on New York's Downtown music scene since she began playing drums in the seminal band DNA in the late 1970s. She has been an innovator in both the role of percussion and the hands-on use of electronic drum machines. Mori joins host David Garland to talk about her work as an improvisor, composer, and collaborator, and to perform in the WNYC Studio. Japan Society will present two concerts celebrating Ikue Mori's music on March 21st and 22nd.
