Stew, Heidi Rodewald, and "Passing Strange"

"Passing Strange" is an unusual musical theater piece currently being performed at The Public Theater. It elegantly and innovatively tells a coming of age story that involves art, race, class, and the effort to find one's self with out being too selfish. Show creators Stew and Heidi Rodewald join host David Garland to talk about their songwriting in general, and the special concerns and satisfactions of creating and performing musical theater. And we'll hear some songs from "Passing Strange."

(If this message could be passed on to Heidi Rodewald, please)

I am ecstatic to hear of Heidi's success! She is an amazingly talented musician, and I love the edgy and organic style she and Stew have created. It is always good to see another artist out there doing something original and from the heart.

I am an old friend of Heidi's, one of her sisters used to perform in a band with my sister and brother-in-law. Even though we have lost touch over the years, I couldn't be more proud of her.... way to go, girl!
