Larkin Grimm
Larkin Grimm describes her songs as “experimental old-time Southern music.” This unusual description actually fits quite nicely. The child of a folk fiddler and an artist, Larkin was raised in a spiritual commune in the Georgia countryside. Her songs seem to be incantations invoking the animating spirits of nature. She plays guitar and dulcimer, but her most powerful instrument is her voice, which is lovely, daring, consoling and threatening. Host David Garland welcomes Larkin Grimm in to the WNYC Studio to perform and talk about her music.
