Apothecary Hymns
When Alex Stimmel is Apothecary Hymns he makes songs. When he records them he plays many different acoustic and electric instruments, layering a wide palette of sonic colors for his multi-tracked singing. When he performs them live, as he does here in the WNYC Studio, he pares his songs down to electric guitar and voice, with occasional harmonica shadings. Alex Stimmel joins host David Garland to talk about and play his Apothecary Hymns both live and from his album “Trowel and Era.”
