Natalie Rose LeBrecht
For a few years she was carefully making her unusual music at home under the name Green Pot Blue Pot, sending her recordings out into the world in decorated, hand sewn pouches. Now, using her own name, Natalie Rose LeBrecht is interested in making her music happen live, risking and riding the improvisational moment. Natalie visits the WNYC Studio to create some spontaneous songs, accompanying herself on piano, harmonium, or with layers of her own voice. Host David Garland speaks with Natalie, and listens to what unfolds.

It took hearing Warraw for me to realize that all the talent in the world does not quantify instant success. That being an original did not entirely gain you ground in the field and help start your career, and it is through Natalie Rose LeBrecht that I have come to terms with many of my fears of becoming a musician.
Never has any musician caused me such emotional discomfort, and I judge the value of any musician by how powerful the emotions they convey. After a listening session of anyone her music friends become worried for my mental health and worry over my sudden wing of depression and exhaustion. But I tell them, "It is the depression potrayed by another that you see, and deep down, I am in bliss from this depression she gives me."
