Ed Askew - Ed Askew Music
Ed Askew (Ed Askew Music)

Ed Askew

Sunday, August 28, 2005

It may be that Ed Askew's time has finally come. His 1968 ESP Disk album, "Ask the Unicorn," is now hailed as landmark of outsider psych-folk, and the songs he continues to write and record retain the outsider virtues of honesty, sincerity, and personal vision. Askew began sending his cassette albums to host David Garland during the 1990s, and that led to this program, first broadcast Sept. 28, 1997, in which Askew talks about his life and music, and presents songs old and new.
