Viking Moses, Jana Hunter, & Spenking

The soulful presence of the young, wandering songwriter Viking Moses (Brendon Massei) was first felt when he visited Spinning On Air back in November, as part of Devendra Banhart's band White Buffalo Deer Woman Appears. This time Viking Moses returns with his own band to perform casual yet intense songs from his album "Crosses," which form reflections on a profound love that hit him one night on the railroad tracks. Texas-born, Brooklyn-based songwriter Jana Hunter sings back-up for Viking Moses, and then presents a set of her own avant-bluesy folk-art songs. And Brendon's pianist, Spenking (Spencer Kingman), steps forth to accompany himself on guitar for some of his own delicate, stinging songs. Plus host David Garland presents music by still more Viking Moses band members, Alec K. Redfern and Adam Mitchell.
