Messy Beauty
Sometimes beauty requires some rough edges, and pretty harmonies require a bit of intriguing noise to make them beautiful. From musicians such as Fennesz, from Austria, the British ensemble The Cinematic Orchestra, and Jeremy Barnes' project A Hawk and a Hacksaw, we have some good examples of a satisfyingly messy beauty. Certainly the group Radiohead values and uses the joys of messy beauty, and you can hear some examples from their newly released CD "Hail to the Thief." Songs by Bablicon, Gerry Hemingway, Marshmallow Coast, Destroyer, and others are also heard.
