    Catskin and Sigur Ros

Icelandic band Sigur Ros recently issued their new album, called "( )," and the mysterious title is apt for the mysterious music, which layers electric guitars with drums and cryptic vocals. Selections from "( )" are heard in the first hour, and then it's story time. Although Halloween has passed, a cold November night is good for spooks, too. Host David Garland is joined by author Kelly Link who reads her short story "Catskin," a vivid and surprising tale of witches, cats, familial ties, and sinister magic. The New York Times has called Kelly Link's work "dazzling...her stories have the vibrancy, the buzzing resonance and the oddly insistent quality of dreams."

Further information on Sigur Ros can be found on the band's Web site.

Kelly Link! I read her wherever I can find her. Her magical realism of the kitchen sink variety is simply enthralling.
