Words and music do an elegant dance of meaning and dreaming in the music of San Francisco-based songwriter Mark David Ashworth. Singing his own lyrics, and setting poems by William Carlos Williams, Mary Oliver, and Robert Louis Stevenson, Ashworth explores themes of the natural world, ancient colonization, and personal insight. Host David Garland welcomes Ashworth to the WNYC Studio to talk about his music, and to perform with guitarist Taylor Jacobs and vocalist Crystal Fulbright.
