Spinning On Air features in-studio performances by musicians whose creativity has led them across stylistic and genre boundaries into unusual, personal territory. 2007 was a busy year for the show, with lots of artists visiting and playing. It was also the show’s 20th anniversary. This week host David Garland presents part one of an overview of some of the unique performances recorded for Spinning On Air in 2007 by Sufjan Stevens, Deerhoof, Holcombe Waller, Rio En Medio, Bitch, Gretchen Phillips, Phosphorescent, Jana Hunter, Cameron Hull, Scott Matthew, and Essie Jain. Next week: Orion Rigel Dommisse, Spider, Noah Georgeson, The Valerie Project, Ora Cogan, Larkin Grimm, The Fiery Furnaces, Corey Dargel, Saint Eskimo, Viking Moses, Christy & Emily, Castanets, and Common Rotation.
