« previous episode | next episode »

Sunday, August 12, 2007

Up north in Maine, the Time of Rivers festival will take place in September, gathering an intriguing array of guitarists and other instrumentalists who are pushing musical boundaries and exploring the possibilities of their instruments. Drawing on standards of craftsmanship and eccentricity established by musicians such as John Fahey and Robbie Basho, this new pool of talent is gathering to be heard, hear each other, and exchange ideas. Host David Garland presents music by some of the Festival participants, such as Ilyas Ahmed, Arborea, Christina Carter, Fire On Fire, Glenn Jones, Micah Blue Smaldone, and Sean Smith.

Time of Rivers will take place in Portland, Maine, on Saturday, September 8th and Sunday, September 9th. More info
