Christy & Emily

« previous episode | next episode »

Sunday, August 05, 2007

The duo of Christy Edwards and Emily Manzo make hand-crafted dreaminess through songs. Their duo benefits from the fact that it combines the two basic backgrounds for music-making: guitarist Christy attended art school, played in punk bands, and is self-taught, while Emily is a conservatory-trained classical pianist. They’ve found common ground in their songs, in which their voices and instruments distill something new from the ingredients each has to offer. Christy & Emily join host David Garland to talk about and perform their music just before the release of their first album, “Gueen’s Head.”
