Mia Doi Todd's songs are quietly intense and draw the listener in to her provocative words with austere accompaniments. Though there's a stern beauty to her music, Mia herself is affable, and on this edition of Spinning On Air the young, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter joins host David Garland in WNYC's studio to perform and discuss her songs. Also, hear The Legendary Pink Dots; music from those jesters of juxtaposition, The Polygraph Lounge; a pair of songs from Lily & Maria's one-and-only album of psych-folk from 1968; and contemporary West Coast singer/songwriter Liz Janes.
